Innermost Emma - An Exploration of “Esoteric Philosophy”
by Reverend David Luce
This book is meant to be an exploration of and a “companion” to Emma Curtis Hopkins’ book Esoteric Philosophy: Deeper Teachings in Spiritual Science. Each chapter offered here is written with the earnest intention of bringing understanding, clarity, and realization to the twelve lessons Emma brings forth in her book. Fewer than one hundred pages in length, the work by the “Teacher of Teachers” (as she was known) is absolutely saturated with Higher Truth for those with “the eyes to see and the ears to hear,” as Christ Jesus said. Because of the richness and substance to be found in Emma’s book, as well as the overarching Mystery therein, I was inspired to offer my study of her book, not only lesson-by-lesson, but also paragraph-by-paragraph. It is my genuine desire that by examining Emma’s work in this way, that the Mystery, that which is unknown, becomes that which is knowable.
Having been a student of Emma’s work for many years, my first reading of Esoteric Philosophy was a stunning experience for me. I honestly felt as though I was standing on a roadway at midnight gazing at a campfire far in the distance. I was none too sure about what I was seeing, but I knew that I was called to draw nearer. As it is with all Initiates, the Truth we see and know today always includes the germ, the seed of the next higher realization of that Truth. For me, reading Esoteric Philosophy was an invitation to draw near to a distant fire, to experience for myself the light and the heat of Immortal Mind Presence as never before. After dozens of subsequent re-readings, it is with great humility that I offer to other Initiates my own examinations of Emma’s inspired work.
In addition to studies of the lessons, I also offer essays and charts dealing with topics taken from those lessons. It is my authentic desire that all of this serves, for those who are prepared, to pierce the veil leading into the next level of Christ Consciousness.
If you have heard the Call as I have, you know that the Light and the Heat which is Original Mind Truth awaits us all. Let us approach It together and warm our entire being around that Eternal Flame.
