“Jesus saieth unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’” (John 14:6)

“It is possible to have the thoughts and speech of mind so orderly that nothing disorderly can stay therein any more than in an orderly home.” (Esoteric Philosophy page 33:3)

Order is a Universal Principle, as infallible and elegant as the Mind of God Itself. In all its forms, it exposes freedom and releases us from the bondage of self so that more of the Christ can be revealed in us. Humanly, we often mistake structure for order, but structure is an illusion of the lower body consciousness and has no inherent freedom within it. Structure claims to be order but is without Substance and is a projection of our human minds as well as our human senses. Structure cannot be traced back to First Cause and is therefore a mere shadow of what it claims to be.

Order shows forth in a myriad of ways in our earthly lives, but it is always founded in Mind that was before the world was made. In our bodies, order reveals itself as health, vitality, youthfulness, and perfect function. In our affairs, order manifests as ease, grace, peace, and command of the material life. In our relationships, order exposes itself as agreement, partnership, loving kindness, and contentment. Order is the very matrix of Unmerited Favor.

At its foundation, order is like all thought, a process of inductive and deductive reasoning, with Cause as its beginning and its end. The highest consciousness always shows forth the highest order, so First Cause and Original Mind should always be our starting point. On the level of mortal mind consciousness, order is the organization of thought to achieve a specific, desired outcome. On a higher, more exalted level of consciousness, order is the surrender of thought so that Immortal Mind can flow through us bringing Heaven to earth.

Mortal mind, steeped in history, precedent and duality often engages in chaotic, disorderly thought in a quest to create or change conditions and outcomes. Immortal Mind, the Source and Cause of True Order, knows nothing of conditions, circumstances, histories, and precedent. Knowing only Itself as Principle, Immortal Mind rests in Its Perfection, and only Perfect Mind can exhibit Perfect Order.

One of the greatest examples of this Mind at work as Order is given us by Jesus Christ in the Lord’s Prayer. The brilliance and cosmic necessity of bringing Order by binding ourselves to First Cause and allowing God to be God is illustrated flawlessly in this greatest of all prayers. Both deductive reasoning (Holy Spirit) and inductive reasoning (Holy Ghost) demonstrate the circulation of creation that permeates the entire Universe.

Inspiration and intuition are hallmarks of contact with the Immortal Mind, and the orderly process that results from that contact is a purity of Divine Reasoning that cannot be found in lower body consciousness. When we pray from any level of our human awareness, we are essentially praying from effect to cause. Praying in this way can be categorized as the very definition of “everyday evil” as it tends to wrap our own ideas around True Cause.

Praying for or about conditions becomes a disorderly process because it identifies with concepts and ideas that never existed in Original Mind. A disorderly prayer also identifies with the personality, experiences, history and “blood and body” of the person who speaks it. To the extent that we involve our mortal mind, we participate in disorder and chaos, because we have separated ourselves from First Mind, where “your Father always knows what things ye have need of.”

When Jesus spoke the “Lord’s Prayer,” he perfectly described and established Perfect Order and the activity of Divine Reasoning. Every act that He performed, every Truth that He proclaimed, and every miracle that came through Him exposed this process in the world. As we continue to surrender our own minds and “look toward” Immortal Mind, this process of bringing perfect expression to earth and returning the glory to God is restored in us as well.
