“When Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.” (Luke 1:41)
“Aristides told Socrates that his wisdom penetrated him whenever he approached him and he felt more like the wisdom of Socrates.” (Esoteric Philosophy page 42:3)
When we are free of ourselves, only God remains. When we rid ourselves of the shackles of the world, only Truth stands forth. When we awaken from the hypnosis of matter, Immortal Mind is all that we desire.
We all have had the experience of what we call “natural attraction” to other human beings that is beyond the physical, beyond the mental, as though we already know them and have always known them. This is “the Christ in me recognizing the Christ in you.” When this occurs, it is a glimpse into our ancient origin as well as our sacred now. Before flesh, before our souls were placed into us and before the world was made, there was, still is, and always will be God. Recognizing the Christ in others authentically, genuinely, and intuitively takes us beyond mortal mind to a state where God can be God in us.
Each of us comes into this life bearing gifts. We are all Magi, offering gifts and seeking the gifts of Christ Consciousness. Some of us resonate with health, others with prosperity, yet others showing forth perfect relationships, and so on. There are places in each one of us that are open portals into our Divine Nature, our Original Me. These places show forth as our birthright of Perfection, places that attract others irresistibly to our Light. In other ways, in turn, we are attracted to the revealed Christ in others, places where we are hungry for the Manna from Heaven. Jesus advises us to “keep good company” and exercise the power of “two or more gathered in His Name” so that we might attain greater Life through what can be termed Co-Operative Consciousness.
Using our mortal mind, the entire Universe seems to be a realm of opposing forces in constant tension. Closer, more conscious attention reveals that these forces bring balance and order to nature and, by processes unseen but just as potent, to our nature as well, by our constant communion with the Divine that we see in one another. Our journey to completion and reunion is dependent upon the Light we see in others as well as the Light that we shed.
Chaos ensues when jealousy, judgement, fear, and condemnation close off this process in us at both ends. We become unwilling and unable to give or receive. It is only by purification and realizing the Mary and Elizabeth inherent in us, that we can consciously and fully participate in God’s elegant and grace-filled process of enLIGHTenment. Accepting and attending to the unalterable Truth that Christ abides in all life and that we each have a role in revealing It, places us into the flow of Co-Operative Consciousness, “the Kingdom of Heaven at hand.”
