“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38)
“The Science of the word as Jesus Christ is the Science of Good and Truth, but the Science that Jesus Christ knows as He gives up the Science of Good and Truth is the Science of the Unspoken Word.” (Esoteric Philosophy page 83:1)
In the natural world, both man and beast build dams and other structures to manipulate or utilize the most powerful and precious of earthly resources, water. Men with visions about a better life here on earth design and construct mechanisms and devices of every kind to conquer and control that which is seemingly unlimited, fluid, and seamless, sometimes with miraculous results, sometimes with those less than ideal.
A perceived need gives birth to an idea, the idea sets in motion a chain of events and, with Herculean effort, time, and determination, a word is made flesh, where once a river flowed freely and unobstructed. On the one hand, the substance of the water serves mankind with power, recreation, and irrigation. On the other, manipulation of the free flow causes problems, sometimes disastrous, of its own. In any case, duality reigns supreme in this realm of consciousness.
Personalizing the Impersonal is how we show forth our own word as flesh. The ideas, concepts and beliefs of our human minds are our activity of personalizing “Jesus.” Our eternal union with Immortal Mind, or “luminous spot” as Emma calls it, is our free flowing, unhindered, and unspecified “Christ” which knows nothing of conditions, yet is the Cause of All. To be free from any agenda, need, desire, or attachment is to allow Genesis: the “River of Living Waters” flowing no longer merely through us, but as us. Emma tells us that “when Goodness, Majesty and Loveliness have wrought their highest mission, they also cease and that which is independent of all states appears.” (Pg. 82:7)
It is here that “showing forth” gives way to “bringing forth.” Showing forth begins with our own ideas, or “words,” and conforms the Living Waters, or Substance, to them. Our thoughts and ideas contain the denseness of flesh and placing them into the Divine Flow can be restrictive and limiting. Bringing forth is allowing the Flow to be what It is, exposing Perfection, and surrendering to “Let It Be” where the Living Water flows freely without the suppositions and duality of thought.
We have all seen a river or stream forced to flow over rocks, snags, and other obstacles. It is usually chaotic, uneven, noisy, and even dangerous. Further downrange, that same river or stream, free of congestion and blockages runs smoothly, peacefully, and gracefully. Freedom from our own ideas, opinions, suppositions, and doctrine restores us to a state in which Genesis, Creation without agenda, can once again operate as us, the River of Living Waters that Jesus Christ promised.
The seamless, unsegmented, and unified elegance that is reflected in the “Science of the Unspoken Word” is Knowing. Like the River of Living Waters, this Knowing is also exhibited by the example of Jesus Christ’s “seamless garment.” “Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also His coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.” (John 19:23)
Upon crucifixion of thought, ideas, and identification, the “Jesus” presence dissolves and the “Christ” Presence is brought forth in Its fullness. The body and the body of affairs (personalization) are no more, but that which cannot nor ever could be divided (seamless Unity) remains and is exposed as Truth.
This final crucifixion awaits us all and announces our reunion with Original Mind. The clothing of our earthly personalities fades away as shadow and we are clad in the seamless garment by which, simply by touching the hem of It, Truth is revealed. Like the River of Living Waters, the Seamless Garment simply flows as Knowing without beginning, end, thought, or specificity. “The One Intelligence of whom all other intelligences are suppositions, the One Word, the One Name that fills the Universe of whom all names are but symbols.” (Pg. 83:1)
“Going with the flow” is a popular saying that dates to the early 1900s. Nowhere does it resonate more profoundly than as a road sign on our journey back into the Heart of Immortal Mind, our Home Point. The blockages, snags, obstructions, and restrictions placed into the Living Water current are removed, one by one, so that the “Let It Be” consciousness is restored through a level of trust that is beyond belief and beyond understanding. All is Grace, all is Truth, all is Genesis. The segmented patchwork clothing of our human personalities is removed, returned to the earth from whence it came so that our own seamless garment of Knowing is revealed; we have no name but Christ. “Whatsoever is not This, is not at all.” (Pg. 83:3)
